ORGANIC CHERRY MARTINI

Organic Cherry Martini image

This recipe was "invented" by accident. I was ready to mix my usual Pomegranate Martini when I realized I was out of pomegranate juice. After the trip to the pantry and a couple of modifications this new favorite drink of mine was born. The key ingredient is R.W. Knudsen Organic Just Tart Cherry juice which provides just the right amount of tartness for this drink. If you attempt to use any other brand of cherry juice or syrup...fuggedaboutit!

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh sour cherries when they're in season.
  • If you can't find fresh sour cherries, you can use frozen or jarred sour cherries. Just be sure to thaw the frozen cherries before using them.
  • To make a non-alcoholic cherry martini, simply omit the vodka.
  • If you don't have cherry-infused vodka, you can make your own by infusing vodka with fresh or dried cherries for a few weeks.
  • For a sweeter martini, add a little simple syrup or agave nectar to taste.
  • Garnish your martini with a fresh cherry, a twist of lemon, or a sprig of mint.
