Steps:

  • Saute' onions and celery in butter; add uncooked rice and ground beef. Brown.

  • Place into buttered casserole dish.

  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, covered.

1 clove garlic, Minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon beef bouillon, Instant
3/4 cup water
6 ounces frozen Chinese pea pods, 1Pk
1 (5 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
1 (5 ) can bamboo shoots, Drained
11 ounces mandarin orange segments, drained (reserve the syrup)
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon molasses

Steps:

  • Cook and stir the meat, onion and garlic in a large skillet until the meat is brown.
  • Drain off the excess fat.
  • Mix the soy sauce, cornstarch, and molasses and stir this mixture into the meat mixture.
  • Stir in the bouillon, water, pea pods, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots and reserved mandarin orange syrup and heat to boiling.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 teaspoon sugar

6 ounces Chinese pea pods, thawed and drained if frozen
2 cups Chinese cabbage, sliced
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
3 green onions with tops, cut in 1-inch pieces
1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules, I use Penzey's beef soup base
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
3 cups brown rice, cooked

Steps:

  • BEFORE you start chopping and slicing, trim excess fat from steak. Partially freeze steak; slice diagonally across grain into 2- x 1/4-inch strips.
  • Combine soy sauce, garlic, sugar, and ginger; add steak, tossing to coat. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Coat wok or skillet with oil; allow to heat at medium high (325°) for 2 minutes. Add steak; stir-fry 1 minute. Add pea pods; stir-fry 1 minute. Add cabbage, mushrooms, green onions, and water chestnuts; stir-fry 2 minutes.

2 Tbsp corn oil
1/4 c orange peel, grated
1 can(s) clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 c beef broth
1/4 c soy sauce
1/2 c dry sherry
1/4 c orange peel, slivered
1/2 tsp crushed dried red pepper
1/3 c marmalade

Steps:

  • 1. In Wok heat oil to medium heat and add meat 1/3 at a time.
  • 2. Stir fry 3 minutes or until browned.
  • 3. Return all beef to wok and add: peel, garlic and ginger.
  • 4. Stir fry 1 minute.
  • 5. Stir together: corn starch, beef broth, soy sauce, sherry, marmalade and pepper.
  • 6. Stir into beef.

2 cups water
2 cups frozen oriental-style vegetables

  • In a large non stick fry pan brown ground beef.
  • Remove and drain in colander.
  • Run under hot water to drain the fat.
  • Sprinkle on one of the seasoning packages; set aside.
  • In the fry fan combine the rest of the ingredients.

  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat cover and simmer 3 minutes or until noodles are tender.

BEEF MARINADE
2 lb flank steak or sirloin (if using chicken 4-5 boneless skinless breast)
1/4 c soy sauce
2 Tbsp dry cooking sherry or chinese rice wine
2 tsp sesame oil
2 Tbsp cornstarch
PEPPERS WITH SAUCE
2 red bell pepper
2 green bell pepper
1 c water
1/4 c dry sherry or rice wine
1/2 c soy sauce
1/4 c sugar
8 clove garlic (chopped)
8 slice ginger (chopped)
5 Tbsp oil

Steps:

  • 1. Cut beef in thin slices across the grain. Mix in 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp sherry, 2 tsp sesame oil, and 2 tbsp cornstarch, adding the cornstarch last. Marinate for 30 mins.
  • 2. Remove seeds from the peppers and cut into thin strips, about 2 1/2 inches in length.
  • 3. In another bowl mix together 1 cup water, 1/4 cup sherry, 1/2 cup soy sauce, and 1/4 cup sugar.
  • 4. Add 4 tbsp oil to a preheated wok or skillet. Add garlic and ginger and stir-fry briefly until aromatic. Add the beef and stir-fry until it changes color. Remove and set aside.
  • 5. Wipe the wok or skillet with a paper towel. Add 1 tbsp oil. When the oil is hot, add the red and green peppers. Stir-fry briefly. Add the sauce and bring to a boil. Add the beef. Mix everything through and serve hot over cooked rice.
  • 6. I like my sauce a little thicker and before adding the beef I usually add a little slurry of cornstarch and water to thicken it. Then add beef.

1 teaspoon sesame oil, divided
1 cup sliced green onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 cup shredded carrot
2 (2 7/8 ounce) packages beef-flavor ramen noodles
1 1/2 cups water
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Trim fat from steak, cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices. Heat ½ teaspoon of oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak, green onions and garlic; stir-fry for two minutes or until done to your preference. Remove steak from skillet; keep warm.
  • Remove noodles from packages; only use one for recipe or part of one depending on salt preference. Add water and remaining seasoning packet to skillet; bring to a boil. Break noodles in half; add noodles to water mixture. Cook noodles for two minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed, stirring frequently. Stir in steak mixture, vegetables and soy sauce; cook until thoroughly heated.
  • To make this dish more quickly you can buy the slaw mix with shredded cabbage and carrot already made. Just use 2 cups of the slaw mix in place of the 1 cup of the shredded cabbage and 1 cups of shredded carrots.

6 medium carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces
2 medium onions, cut into wedges
1 1/2 lbs beef round steak, cut on the bias into 1/2 inch strips
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
2 -3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1 (3/4 ounce) envelope beef gravy mix
4 cups fresh broccoli florets
3 cups hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • Layer the carrots, onions, and beef strips (in that order) in a 4-quart slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle evenly with ginger and garlic.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the water, soy sauce, and gravy mix.
  • Pour over meat and vegetables.

1 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
1/2 tsp ginger, grated
1/8 tsp red pepper, crushed
3/4 oz beef flank, trimmed
1 c fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 c green pepper strips
1 c red pepper strips
2 green onions, cut into 1 inch pieces
2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
2 tsp cornstarch

Steps:

  • 1. Cook couscous according to package directions on the range top, except omit margarine or butter and salt.
  • 2. For sauce, stir together preserves, soy sauce, gingerroot and crushed red pepper; set aside. Thinly slice steak on the bias into bite-size strips.
  • 3. Place beef strips in a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
  • 4. Cover and micro-cook on 100% power (high) for 5 or 6 minutes.
  • 5. For low-wattage ovens: cook 8 to 9 minutes or until meat is tender, stirring after 3 minutes.
  • 6. Remove meat and discard juices.
  • 7. In the casserole place mushrooms, green and red pepper strips and green onions.
  • 8. Pour sauce mixture over the vegetables.
