Tips:
- Choose the Right Bread: Use a bread that will hold up well when soaked in the egg mixture. French bread, sourdough, and challah are all good choices.
- Whisk the Eggs Thoroughly: Make sure the eggs are well-whisked before adding them to the milk mixture. This will help create a smooth and even custard.
- Use Fresh Herbs: Fresh herbs, such as chives, parsley, and thyme, will add a lot of flavor to the casserole. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but use half the amount.
- Don't Overcook the Casserole: The casserole is done when the center is just set. Overcooking will make the casserole dry and tough.
- Let the Casserole Cool Slightly Before Serving: This will help the casserole hold its shape when you slice it.
Conclusion:
Overnight cheese and egg casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. It's perfect for a crowd, and it can be made ahead of time, so it's great for busy mornings. With a few simple tips, you can make sure your overnight cheese and egg casserole turns out perfect every time.
