Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Waxy potatoes like Yukon Gold or red potatoes are best for pan-browed potatoes as they hold their shape well during cooking.
  • Slice the potatoes evenly: This will help them cook evenly.
  • Parboil the potatoes: This will help them cook more quickly and evenly in the pan.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed skillet: This will help evenly distribute the heat and prevent the potatoes from sticking.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: Give the potatoes enough space to cook evenly.
  • Be patient: Pan-browed potatoes take time to cook properly. Don't rush the process or you'll end up with undercooked potatoes.
  • Season the potatoes well: Salt and pepper are a good starting point, but you can also add other spices or herbs to taste.

Conclusion:

Pan-browed potatoes are a delicious and versatile side dish that can be served with a variety of meals. They're crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and they're packed with flavor. With a little practice, you can easily make perfect pan-browed potatoes at home.
