3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried rubbed sage
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
3/4 cup parmesan cheese (best if freshly grated)

  • To keep crust in tact, drain any excess oil by placing chops on wire rack again.

PARMESAN CRUSTED PORK CHOPS

PARMESAN CRUSTED PORK CHOPS image

Categories     Pork

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 cup dijon mustard
2 tbsps olive oil
1/4 tsp leaves dried basil
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp leaves dried oregano
1/4 tsp leaves thyme
1 dash black pepper
3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
2 lbs pork chops (top loin, lean, boneless)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400 °F (200 °C). 2. Line baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and set aside. 3. In a small bowl whisk together mustard, oil, and spices. 4. Season the 4 pork chops with pepper, then brush both sides of the chops with the mustard mixture. 5. Press the grated parmesan cheese into both sides of the chops. (I am pretty liberal with the cheese. I like a thick coating but I'm sure a thin one will work too.) 6. Place the chops on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes. The coating should be browned and slightly crispy and the pork should be cooked all the way through. 7. Note: you can also use this recipe with boneless chicken breasts instead of pork chops & it is just as dee-lish!

LOW CARB DIJON PARMESAN CRUSTED PORK CHOPS RECIPE

Low Carb Dijon Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops Recipe image

Provided by teamsosa

Number Of Ingredients 13

4 pork loin chops, boneless
1/4 tsp. kosher salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 cup Dijon Mustard
2 tbsp. spicy brown mustard
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. Italian Seasoning
1 Cup Parmesan Cheese - Grated

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F Season chops on both sides with kosher salt and pepper. In a shallow mixing bowl, combine Dijon mustard, spicy brown mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, thyme, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, and Italian seasoning. Dredge each chop in the mustard mixture, liberally coating both sides. On a large plate, spread Parmesan cheese into a thin layer. Coat mustard covered chops liberally with Parmesan cheese on both sides. Place a cooling rack on top of a baking sheet and place chops on cooling rack. This will allow them to get crisp on both sides. Bake for 20 minutes. Then broil on high, on the top oven rack for 3-4 minutes or until chops are nice and crisp and golden brown.

Tips:

  • Selecting the Right Pork Chops: Choose pork chops that are at least 1 inch thick and have a good amount of marbling. This will ensure that the chops stay juicy and flavorful during cooking.
  • Preparing the Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels before cooking. This will help the breading adhere to the chops better.
  • Use Panko Breadcrumbs: Panko breadcrumbs create a crispy and flavorful crust on the pork chops. If you don't have panko breadcrumbs, you can use regular breadcrumbs, but they won't be as crispy.
  • Seasoning the Pork Chops: Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder before dredging them in the breadcrumb mixture. This will help the chops develop a savory flavor.
  • Pan-Searing the Pork Chops: Sear the pork chops in a hot skillet with butter or olive oil until they are golden brown on both sides. This will create a flavorful crust and help seal in the juices.
  • Baking the Pork Chops: After searing, transfer the pork chops to a baking dish and bake them in a preheated oven until they are cooked through. This will help ensure that the chops are tender and juicy.
  • Resting the Pork Chops: Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the chops, making them more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Parmesan-crusted pork chops are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The combination of crispy breading, tender pork, and melted cheese makes this dish a hit with everyone. Serve the pork chops with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a simple salad.
