Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better your pasta salad will taste. This is especially true for the vegetables, herbs, and cheese.
  • Cook the pasta al dente: Al dente means "to the tooth" in Italian, and it refers to the ideal texture for cooked pasta. The pasta should be tender but still have a slight bite to it.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: This will add color, texture, and flavor to your salad. Some good choices include cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumber, zucchini, and broccoli.
  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs, such as basil, parsley, and oregano, will add a pop of flavor to your salad.
  • Don't overdress the salad: A little bit of dressing goes a long way. Too much dressing will weigh down the salad and make it soggy.
  • Serve the salad chilled: Pasta salad is best served chilled. This will help the flavors to meld and the pasta to firm up.
