Categories     One Dish Meal

Time 1h5m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 cups elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Once you have the macaroni cooked and drained, place in a large bowl and while still hot and add the cheddar.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and add to the macaroni mixture.
  • Pour macaroni mixture into a casserole dish and bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Top with additional cheese if desired, and bake a few minutes more until cheese is melted.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality cheese. The type of cheese you use will make a big difference in the flavor of your macaroni and cheese. Use a sharp cheddar cheese for a bold flavor, or a milder cheese like mozzarella or Monterey Jack for a more subtle flavor.
  • Cook the macaroni al dente. This means that the macaroni should be cooked until it is just barely tender. If you overcook the macaroni, it will become mushy.
  • Make a creamy sauce. The sauce for macaroni and cheese should be creamy and flavorful. Use a combination of butter, milk, and cheese to make a smooth and rich sauce.
  • Add some extras. Feel free to add other ingredients to your macaroni and cheese, such as cooked bacon, diced tomatoes, or chopped green onions. This will give your dish a more complex flavor.
  • Bake until golden brown. Bake the macaroni and cheese until the top is golden brown and bubbly. This will give it a nice crust.

Conclusion:

Macaroni and cheese is a classic comfort food that is loved by people of all ages. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. Whether you like it simple or loaded with extras, macaroni and cheese is a dish that everyone will enjoy.
