DARK CHOCOLATE PEPPERMINT FUDGE
I double this recipe and put it in a heart-shaped silicone baking mold for Valentine's Day! I prefer using silicone baking molds as it is easier to pop right out of the mold without having to use a cooking/baking spray.

PEPPERMINT FUDGE (NOT CHOCOLATE!)
Generally my response to non-chocolate candy is "what's the point?" This, however, has become my favorite Christmas candy! My daughter found it in one of those Pillsbury/Betty Crocker booklets they tempt you with at the checkout stands. Prep time does not include cooling time.

Tips:
- Use high-quality ingredients: This will ensure that your fudge turns out delicious. Look for real peppermint extract, unsweetened chocolate, and butter that is at least 80% fat.
- Don't overcook the fudge: Cook it just until it reaches the desired consistency. If you overcook it, it will become crumbly.
- Let the fudge cool completely before cutting it: This will help it to set properly.
- Store the fudge in an airtight container in a cool, dry place: It will keep for up to 2 weeks.
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of unsweetened chocolate: This will give the fudge a more intense chocolate flavor.
- Add a pinch of salt to the fudge: This will help to balance out the sweetness.
- Get creative with your toppings: You can add chopped nuts, dried fruit, or crushed candy canes to the fudge.
Conclusion:
Peppermint fudge is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With its creamy texture and refreshing peppermint flavor, it is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, give peppermint fudge a try. You won't be disappointed!
