Tips:

  • Choose the Right Potatoes: Opt for firm, all-purpose potatoes like Russet or Yukon Gold for best results.
  • Slice Potatoes Thinly: Aim for even slices about 1/8 inch thick. This ensures they cook evenly and get crispy.
  • Soak Potato Slices: To prevent browning, soak the sliced potatoes in cold water for about 10 minutes before cooking.
  • Dry Potatoes Thoroughly: Make sure to pat the potato slices dry before cooking to ensure they crisp up nicely.
  • Use High Heat: High heat is essential for achieving that crispy texture. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or heat your skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Pan: Avoid overcrowding the pan with potato slices, as this can prevent them from cooking evenly and becoming crispy.
  • Flip Potatoes Regularly: To ensure even cooking, flip the potato slices halfway through the cooking time.
  • Add Pepperoni at the End: For optimal flavor and texture, add the pepperoni slices towards the end of the cooking process.
  • Use Fresh or Frozen Pepperoni: Both fresh and frozen pepperoni can be used in this recipe. If using frozen, thaw it completely before cooking.
  • Season to Taste: Feel free to adjust the seasonings according to your preference. Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or chili powder are great options.
