Tips:
- To ensure your steak is cooked to perfection, use a meat thermometer to check its internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 135°F (57°C), medium for 145°F (63°C), and medium-well for 155°F (68°C).
- If you don't have a meat thermometer, you can also check the steak's doneness by pressing it with your finger. If it springs back, it's medium-rare; if it's slightly firmer, it's medium; and if it's firm, it's medium-well.
- To prevent the steak from overcooking, remove it from the heat as soon as it reaches your desired doneness. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing, to allow the juices to redistribute.
- For the best flavor, use high-quality steak. Look for cuts that are well-marbled, with a good amount of fat. This will help the steak stay tender and juicy.
- Don't overcrowd the skillet when cooking the steak. This will cause the steak to steam instead of sear, resulting in a less flavorful dish.
- Season the steak generously with salt and pepper before cooking. You can also add other spices or herbs, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
- To make a creamy sauce for the steak, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, and horseradish sauce. Season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper.
- Serve the steak with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a salad.
Conclusion:
The Philly steak potato skillet is an easy and delicious meal that's perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful and satisfying dish that the whole family will love. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give the Philly steak potato skillet a try.
