My brother used to make beef jerky and sell it at school. I loved it so much, I would sneak into his room and steal some pieces, since he would make me pay to eat some! This beef jerky is salty, peppery, and a little sweet-- DELICIOUS!

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 lbs sirloin tip steaks, thin cut
5 tablespoons soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Cut steak into 1 inch wide by 4 inches long strips. Smaller, leftover pieces will cook well- don't just through them away!
  • Mix other 8 ingredients together.
  • Pour mixture over meat.
  • Coat each piece of meat with marinade.
  • Marinate in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  • Place meat on dehydrator trays- do not overlap meat.
  • Dehydrate at 160 degrees for 10 hours.

2/3 Cup Worestershire Sauce
2/3 Cup Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
3 quick dashes of Tobasco Sauce
1 drop of Carolina Reaper sauce(from Pucker Butt Pepper Company)
1 1/2 TBSP Onion Power
1 TSP Garlic Powder
1 TBSP Honey
2 TSP Black Pepper
1 TSP Liquid Smoke

  • Mix all the ingredients, except the mea7, in a large bowl. Cut the beef in 1/4 in strips against the grain. Put the beef in the marinate. Cover and marinate 24 hours. Dehydrate for 12 hours or more if you like it crispy.

1 tablespoon honey, or more to taste
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 pounds beef top round, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Whisk Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, paprika, honey, black pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder together in a bowl. Add beef to bowl and turn to coat beef completely. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator, 3 hours to overnight.

1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • Pat flank steak dry and slice into this strips across the grain of the meat.

⅔ cup soy sauce
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
