PIZZA PIZZA MEATLOAF!!! DANA'S

Pizza Pizza Meatloaf!!! Dana's image

My husband isn't a real big fan of meatloaf so I am always trying to come up with new ways to make it. This one has been floating around in my head for weeks and I finally convinced him to allow me to try it. Guess what! He loved it! In fact after dinner I was trying to clean things up and he was still eating it off the serving...

Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 1/2 lb lean burger
2 eggs
4 slices of bread, torn
1/4 c carrots, shredded
1/4 c red bell pepper, chopped fine
1/4 c onion, chopped fine
9 slice mazzarella cheese
1/4 lb sliced pepperoni
1/2 c pizza sauce, your choice
1/2 c shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, crack your eggs, mix, add torn bread and let sit until bread is absorbed, crumble burger, add veggies and seasoning, mix well. Cut in two equal parts.
  • 2. Spray a baking dish with baking spray and form the first half into a nice round flat circle, place in baking dish. Add 3 slices of cheese, then place the pepperoni in a circle covering the bottom, repeat two more times. Place the second half on top and seal well. I press the sides to each other so that the entire meatloaf is sealed. Place some of the pizza sauce on top and Bake for 30 minutes at 350°.
  • 3. Ater 30° remove and place the remainng pepperoni on top, add the rest of the sauce, and bake an additional 10°, remove and put your shredded cheese on top, put it back in the oven and continue to bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted. Baking time may depend on oven. Make sure your meatloaf is nice and brown and a meat therm inserted registers at least 145° (med-rare). If you would like it well done, then adjust baking times above.
  • 4. This meatloaf was so moist and yummy and really reminded us of eating a pizza without the crust of course. I hope you will try it.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ground meat: A blend of ground beef and ground pork is a classic choice for pizza meatloaf, as it provides a good balance of flavor and texture. You can also use all beef or all pork, depending on your preference.
  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients you use, the better your pizza meatloaf will taste. Make sure to use fresh ground meat, vegetables, and spices.
  • Don't overmix the meatloaf mixture: Overmixing can make the meatloaf tough. Just mix the ingredients until they are well combined.
  • Bake the meatloaf in a preheated oven: This will help to ensure that the meatloaf cooks evenly.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing: This will help to keep the juices in the meatloaf and prevent it from falling apart.

Conclusion:

Pizza meatloaf is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal or a casual party. It can be served with a variety of side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, green beans, or a salad. With its combination of ground meat, cheese, and pizza sauce, pizza meatloaf is sure to be a hit with everyone at the table.
