Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork. A boneless pork loin roast or pork shoulder roast is a good choice for this recipe. These cuts are relatively inexpensive and have a good amount of fat, which will help to keep the pork moist during cooking.
  • Brown the pork before braising. Browning the pork in a hot skillet before braising it will help to develop flavor and color.
  • Use a good quality orange juice. Freshly squeezed orange juice is always best, but you can also use store-bought orange juice that is 100% juice and not from concentrate.
  • Add some spices to the braising liquid. A few bay leaves, cloves, and peppercorns will add depth of flavor to the pork.
  • Cook the pork until it is fall-apart tender. This will take about 2-3 hours, depending on the size of the pork roast.
  • Serve the pork with potatoes and vegetables. Mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, or boiled potatoes are all good choices. You can also serve the pork with a side of green beans, carrots, or broccoli.

Conclusion:

This pork and potatoes recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. The pork is braised in orange juice and cola, which gives it a sweet and tangy flavor. The potatoes are cooked in the same pot as the pork, so they soak up all of the delicious juices. This recipe is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
