PORK CHOPS WITH BLUE CHEESE GRAVY

BOY, does this look good.... if you like blue cheese. I highly recommend a moist blue cheese as opposed to a more crumbly one to facilitate making the sauce. Nabbed with no shame whatsoever from allrecipes.com.

NANA'S MELT IN YOUR MOUTH BLUE CHEESE PORK CHOPS

Nana's Melt in Your Mouth Blue Cheese Pork Chops image

My Mom,(called Nana by her Grands), made these for us for years. They truly do melt in your mouth . If you are a Blue CHeese fan, these are for you. A fix and forget main dish. I always serve either rice or noodles with it so I don't miss any of the yummy gravy. Also, she used very thick bone in chops, I mostly use the boneless ones, but they really should be thick ones, no matter which type you choose.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality pork chops: Look for chops that are thick (at least 1 inch) and have good marbling. This will ensure that they stay juicy and flavorful during cooking.
  • Season the pork chops well: Pork chops can easily become bland, so it's important to season them well with salt, pepper, and other spices before cooking. Some good options include garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cumin.
  • Cook the pork chops over medium heat: This will help to prevent them from drying out. If you cook them over high heat, they will be more likely to burn on the outside and be undercooked on the inside.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the pork chops are cooked to your desired doneness: The USDA recommends cooking pork chops to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. However, some people prefer to cook them to a slightly higher temperature, such as 155 degrees Fahrenheit, for a more well-done chop.
  • Let the pork chops rest before serving: This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful chop.
