Tips:

  • Choose the right wine: For a traditional Portuguese sangria, use a light-bodied red wine, such as a vinho verde or a young Douro red. You can also use a white or sparkling wine, depending on your preference.
  • Use fresh, seasonal fruit: The key to a great sangria is using fresh, ripe fruit. This will give your sangria a bright and flavorful taste. Some popular fruits to use include oranges, lemons, limes, apples, and pears.
  • Add some sweetness: Sugar or honey is traditionally used to sweeten sangria. However, you can also use other sweeteners, such as agave nectar or stevia, to taste.
  • Add some spices: Spices can add a lot of flavor to sangria. Some popular spices to use include cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger.
