5 tablespoons butter, divided
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded Romano cheese
8 cups sliced cooked peeled potatoes
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons butter. Stir in the flour and salt until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
