Categories     Nut

Yield 1 cup

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 T unsalted butter
1 c pecan halves
1 T maple syrup
1/2 t pumpkin pie spice
1/2 t kosher salt
pinch cayenne

Steps:

  • Melt butter in large non-stick skillet. Add the nuts, stirring with a wooden spoon for 3 minutes or until they become fragrant. Pour on the maple syrup and stir to combine. Add the spices and salt, and continue to cook, stirring frequently. Cook another 2-3 minutes, until the nuts are glazed and dark golden. Pour onto foil or parchment paper and allow to cool. They will harden as they cool.

Tips:

  • Use fresh pumpkin puree. Fresh pumpkin puree has a much better flavor than canned puree. If you don't have time to make your own, you can buy it at most grocery stores.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the pecans tough.
  • Bake the pecans until they are golden brown. This will give them the best flavor and texture.
  • Let the pecans cool completely before storing them. This will help them keep their crunch.

Conclusion:

Pumpkin pie spiced pecans are a delicious and easy-to-make snack that is perfect for fall. They are also a great way to use up leftover pumpkin puree. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a batch of these tasty treats that are sure to please everyone.
