Tips:

  • Use fresh pumpkin puree: Fresh pumpkin puree will give your pie squares the best flavor. To make your own puree, simply roast a pumpkin, scoop out the flesh, and puree it in a food processor.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make your pie squares tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the pie squares until they are set: The pie squares are done baking when they are set in the center. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
  • Let the pie squares cool completely before serving: This will allow the filling to set and the flavors to meld.
  • Serve the pie squares with whipped cream or ice cream: This will add a delicious sweetness and creaminess to the pie squares.
