THE FAMOUS SEAFOOD SEASONING RECIPE
This one really wasn't that hard to crack...The ingredients are printed on the container! The only difficult part was working out the correct ratios for each spice, or herb... But patient perseverance, and good ol' 'trial and error' saved the day. The original Old Bay® Seasoning was invented in the 1940's by an American-German immigrant named Gustav Brunn. Initially, it was intended only for use on crab meat (as there was plenty of it in the Chesapeake Bay area where Gustav lived!), but in the last decade or so, it's used in other food areas, such as poultry and salads.

QUEENS OF QUISINE SEAFOOD SEASONING AND RUB
Enveloping the spectrum of spices used in North Africa and the Middle East, this combination has a spicy-smokey aroma and a bit of bite when eaten. Savory mixed with sweet, this rub can be used on fish and seafood, broiled, baked, stir-fried or grilled. Created to represent our ZWT 6 team in the Wild Card Challenge, I chose a wide variety of spices and brought them together to create a mysterious and delicious combination fit for royalty -- the Queens of Quisine! When testing the recipe, I prepared large wild Key West shrimp and stir-fried them with olive oil. Delicious!

Tips for Using Seafood Seasoning and Rub:
- Choose the Right Seafood Seasoning and Rub: Consider the type of seafood you are cooking and the flavors you want to achieve. For example, Old Bay seasoning is a classic choice for crab and shrimp, while a Cajun seasoning blend is perfect for fish and shellfish.
- Use Fresh Herbs and Spices: When possible, use fresh herbs and spices instead of dried ones. They will provide a more vibrant and flavorful taste.
- Don't Overdo It: A little bit of seasoning and rub goes a long way. Use too much and you will overpower the delicate flavor of the seafood.
- Apply the Seasoning and Rub Evenly: Before cooking, make sure the seasoning and rub is evenly distributed over the seafood. This will help ensure that every bite is flavorful.
- Let the Seafood Rest: After seasoning and rubbing the seafood, let it rest for a few minutes before cooking. This will allow the flavors to meld and penetrate the seafood.
- Cook the Seafood Properly: Depending on the type of seafood, there are different ways to cook it. Be sure to cook the seafood to the proper temperature to ensure that it is safe to eat and has the best flavor.
Conclusion:
Using seafood seasoning and rub is a great way to add flavor and complexity to your seafood dishes. By following these tips, you can make sure that your seafood is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. So next time you're cooking seafood, don't be afraid to experiment with different seasonings and rubs. You may just find a new favorite way to enjoy your favorite seafood dishes.
