QUICK CHEAT FOR CHILI'S SWEET HONEY MUSTARD DIPPING SAUCE

Quick Cheat for Chili's Sweet Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce image

My family absolutely loves Chili's and their honey mustard sauce. So a while back i searched the interent for a copycat recipe which I found but did my own tweaking to. The problem with most store bought honey mustard is they're usually just too mustardy....this just makes it better! And it's so supper easy to tweak to your own taste. It's more of a by taste recipe then a by the measurement one. Doubles easily.

Tips:

  • Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. If using canned tomatoes, choose whole tomatoes and crush them yourself to avoid a watery sauce.

  • For a smoky flavor, roast the tomatoes and peppers before adding them to the sauce.
  • To thicken the sauce, add a cornstarch slurry or tomato paste. You can also simmer the sauce for a longer period of time to reduce it.
  • Taste the sauce as you go and adjust the seasonings as needed. Chili sauce should be flavorful and well-balanced.
