1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
2 tablespoons butter
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup (such as Campbell's®)
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of chicken soup (such as Campbell's®)
1 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 5 minutes; drain.

This is my favorite stroganoff to this day; I know it's not true stoganoff but it is what my Mom called it. My mom would make it often especially when we were having company over. I believe it came from her friend that she was roommates in the hospital with when she had me.

1 lb ground beef
1/2 c onion,finely chopped
1/8 tsp garlic powder
4 oz can mushroom steams and pieces, drained
10 3/4 oz can golden mushroom soup, you can substitute cream of mushroom
1/4 c cheddar cheese, grated
1 Tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 c yogurt, ( i use fat free sour cream)
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
3 c rice, cooked

Steps:

  • 1. Break meat into small chunks in skillet. Cook fat out od meat and spoon off grease. Add onion, garlic powder, mushroom soup, cheese, flour and salt and pepper. Mix well and cover skillet. Cook over low heat for 20-30 minutes. Stir in yogurt and worcestershire sauce thoroughly, heat but do not boil so it will not curdle. Pour into serving dish and sprinkle with parsely. Serve with hot rice.
