Tips

  • Use fresh lemon juice. Fresh lemon juice imparts the best flavor to lemon poppy seed bread. If you don't have fresh lemons on hand, you can use bottled lemon juice, but the flavor will be less pronounced.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the bread tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Grease and flour the pan. This will help the bread to rise evenly and prevent it from sticking to the pan.
  • Bake the bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This will ensure that the bread is cooked through.
  • Let the bread cool completely before slicing it. This will help to prevent the bread from crumbling.

Conclusion

Lemon poppy seed bread is a classic quick bread that is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a snack. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own liking. Add some chopped walnuts or pecans for a nutty flavor, or use a different type of citrus juice, such as orange or grapefruit juice. No matter how you make it, lemon poppy seed bread is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
