QUICK & SIMPLE GREEN PEA & CHEDDAR SALAD

Quick & Simple Green Pea & Cheddar Salad image

This is the simplest recipe for pea salad. My mom use to make this for us when we were growing up, now I make it for my family and everyone enjoys it. It only takes a few minutes to throw together, but adds a nice touch to many meals, especially bbq's and family gatherings. I prefer to make this with green onion, but I have used white onion, or even no onion, depending on what I have on hand. I hope you enjoy the recipe.

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh green peas. If using frozen peas, thaw them completely before using.
  • Use a sharp knife to chop the vegetables. This will help to prevent them from getting bruised or crushed.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can grate the cheddar cheese by hand. Just be sure to grate it finely so that it melts evenly in the salad.
  • To make a creamy dressing, use mayonnaise instead of sour cream. You can also add a tablespoon of chopped fresh herbs, such as chives or parsley, for extra flavor.
  • Serve the salad immediately or chill it for later. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Green pea and cheddar salad is a quick and easy salad that is perfect for a summer picnic or potluck. It is also a healthy and delicious way to get your daily dose of vegetables.
