ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS
This recipe is from my mother. It may sound strange, but these are really good and very easy to make. The Brussels sprouts should be brown with a bit of black on the outside when done. Any leftovers can be reheated or even just eaten cold from the fridge. I don't know how, but they taste sweet and salty at the same time!

Tips:
- Choose small, firm Brussels sprouts. Smaller sprouts will cook more evenly and have a better flavor. If you can find organic sprouts, even better!
- Trim the sprouts. Cut off the brown, woody ends of the sprouts and remove any loose outer leaves.
- Shave the sprouts. Use a sharp knife or a mandoline to thinly slice the sprouts. This will help them cook more quickly and evenly.
- Season the sprouts. Toss the shaved sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
- Roast the sprouts. Spread the seasoned sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast them in a preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly browned.
- Serve the sprouts. Roasted Brussels sprouts can be served as a side dish or as a main course. They are also a great addition to salads, sandwiches, and wraps.
