VANILLA BUTTERCREAM FROSTING (FROM SPRINKLES CUPCAKES)
My sister got this buttercream frosting off the box of a Sprinkles Cupcake mix, made famous by Oprah. My sister said this was amazing. Update: I have finally gotten around to making this myself. I will say, that I don't like my desserts overly sweet and. though this was very good, I think I would probably decrease the amount of sugar for my personal taste. I'm glad everyone else has liked it as-is, though. :)

ROSE-FLAVORED BUTTERCREAM FROSTING/ICING FOR CUPCAKES
Rosewater has the same potency as vanilla extract and can be easily subbed 1:1 in recipes that use vanilla, but has a stronger flavor. I love buttercream frosting and wanted to share this discovering by sharing my stand-by recipe fixed for making it a rose flavor. Makes enough to frost about 24 cupcakes. This is a nice change from vanilla frosting! Prep time doesn't include butter softening time.

Steps:
- If you use unsalted butter-- add a couple shakes of table salt. It helps bind the frosting better and make it hold shape and last longer. Make sure the butter is good and soft too or else it won't mix right!
- With an electric mixer, cream the butter with 1 cup confectioners sugar and a little milk. Just enough milk that it gets the mixture to go. Beat in the rosewater.
- Keep adding confectioners sugar and milk, and beating on high, until you have a nice frosting consistency.
- Add a few drops of red food coloring to dye it pink.
Tips:
- Use unsalted butter: Unsalted butter allows you to control the amount of salt in the frosting, ensuring it is not too salty.
- Bring butter and cream cheese to room temperature: Softened butter and cream cheese mix more smoothly and evenly, resulting in a light and fluffy frosting.
- Gradually add powdered sugar: Adding the powdered sugar a little at a time helps prevent the frosting from becoming too thick or grainy.
- Don't over-beat the frosting: Over-beating can cause the frosting to lose its airiness and become dense.
- Add rose flavoring and color: Use rose extract or rose water for a subtle rose flavor, and add a drop or two of pink or red food coloring for a delicate pink hue.
- Chill the frosting before using: Chilling the frosting for at least 30 minutes helps it to firm up and makes it easier to pipe or spread.
Conclusion:
Rose-flavored buttercream frosting is a versatile and delicious frosting that adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to any dessert. Whether you are using it to frost cupcakes, cakes, or cookies, this frosting is sure to impress. With its light and fluffy texture, delicate rose flavor, and beautiful pink hue, rose-flavored buttercream frosting is the perfect finishing touch for any special occasion.
