Number Of Ingredients 9

8 Tbsp paprika
1/2 teasp cayenne pepper
5 Tbsp fresh ground black pepper
6 Tbsp onion powder
3 Tbsp sea salt
2 1/2 Tbsp dried oregano
2 1/2 Tbsp dried thyme
3 Tbsb crushed toffee brickle
3 Tbsp dutch dark cocoa

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients in medium bowl, and mix thoroughly. Store in tight container in cool place for up to six weeks. Great dry rub for pork, chicken, or seafood. Nice addition to soups and salads.

Tips:

  • Use fresh herbs and spices: Fresh herbs and spices pack more flavor than dried ones, so use them whenever possible. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, use a good quality dried herb blend.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment: There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to creating your own rustic seasoning blend. Feel free to experiment with different herbs, spices, and other ingredients until you find a combination that you love.
  • Use whole spices: Whole spices have a more intense flavor than ground spices. If you're using whole spices, be sure to grind them fresh before using them.
  • Toast your spices: Toasting spices brings out their flavor. You can toast spices in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes, or you can place them on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes.
  • Store your seasoning blend in a cool, dark place: Light and heat can degrade the flavor of spices, so it's important to store your seasoning blend in a cool, dark place.

Conclusion:

Creating your own rustic seasoning blend is a great way to add flavor to your favorite dishes. With a little experimentation, you can create a blend that is perfect for your taste. So get creative and have fun!
