Tips:

  • Use ripe pears for the best flavor. Unripe pears will be hard and tart, while ripe pears will be soft and sweet.
  • Slice the pears thinly so they cook evenly. If the pears are too thick, they will take longer to cook and may not soften all the way through.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the pears. If the pears are too close together, they will steam instead of sautéing and will not brown properly.
  • Add the pecans to the pan towards the end of cooking so they don't burn. Pecans can burn easily, so it's important to add them to the pan just before the pears are finished cooking.
  • Use a good quality balsamic vinegar. A cheap balsamic vinegar will not have the same flavor as a good quality vinegar. When choosing a balsamic vinegar, look for one that is aged for at least 12 years.
  • Serve the salad immediately. This salad is best served fresh. If you let it sit for too long, the pears will start to brown and the salad will not be as flavorful.

Conclusion:

This salad is a delicious and easy way to enjoy fresh pears. The combination of sweet pears, salty gorgonzola cheese, and crunchy pecans is sure to please everyone at your table. The salad is also a great way to use up any leftover pears you may have. So next time you're looking for a light and refreshing salad, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed.
