SALISBURY STEAK WITH BROWN GRAVY
Steps:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and saute until soft, about 6 minutes. Put 1/2 of the onion in a large bowl and the remainder in another bowl. In the large bowl add the beef, bread crumbs, grill seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and the egg. Mix to combine everything well and form the mixture into 5 oval patties. Heat the remaining tablespoon of oil in the same skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties until they are well browned, about 4 to 5 minutes per side. Remove the steaks and pour off all but 2 tablespoons the fat. (The patties will not be cooked through and will finish cooking in the gravy.)
- Put the pan back on the heat, add the mushrooms, and cook for 5 minutes. Add the remaining onions, sprinkle in the flour, and cook for 2 minutes. Add the beef broth and bring it to a boil. Return the patties to the pan, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened and the steaks are cooked through, about 10 minutes. SALISBURY STEAKS
This is one of the best Salisbury Steak recipes I've ever had. It has just enough Zing to tantalize your tastebuds. I always double the sauce part of the recipe so there is plenty of gravy to go around, but you can decide for yourself. Sliced onions can be added on top of the steaks while simmering in the gravy. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes. These also freeze well.

Tips:
- Use high-quality ground beef for the best results. An 80/20 blend of ground chuck and ground sirloin is a good option.
- Don't overwork the meat mixture. Overworking will make the meatballs tough.
- Use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs. Panko breadcrumbs will absorb more moisture and help to keep the meatballs moist.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the meatballs. This will cause the meatballs to steam instead of brown.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the meatballs are cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Make sure the sauce is simmering before adding the meatballs. This will help to prevent the meatballs from sticking to the pan.
- Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
