HONEY-GLAZED BAKED SALMON

Honey-Glazed Baked Salmon image

I got this recipe from a friend and, as a new cook, it is easy to make and delicious to boot! Even when I make this recipe with fewer pieces of salmon (2 small salmon filets), I still make the same amount of honey glaze, because it is so delicious and I prefer having more sauce rather than not enough.

HONEY SOY GLAZED SALMON RECIPE BY TASTY

Honey Soy Glazed Salmon Recipe by Tasty image

Two words: honey salmon! Sure, it takes a tiny bit of prep work, but once you marinate your salmon, you won't be able to go back. A simple mix of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger coats and flavors your fish for 30 minutes before you throw it on the pan until the outside is perfectly crispy. Once that's done, you heat up and reduce some extra marinade to make a thick, to-die-for glaze to pour over your filet. Serve with your favorite veggies or rice and enjoy!

Provided by Martha Stewart

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 tablespoon whole coriander seeds
1/4 cup honey
5 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
4 salmon fillets (5 ounces each), skinned
2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Toast the coriander seeds in a dry, large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until golden, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool. Grind seeds in a spice grinder or crush with a mortar and pestle until coarsely ground; reserve skillet.

Yield 4 people

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 tablespoon whole coriander seeds
1/4 cup honey
5 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
4 salmon fillets (5 ounces each), skinned
2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Steps:

  • 1. Toast the coriander seeds in a dry, large nonstick skillet over medium- high heat, stirring constantly, until golden, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool. Grind seeds in a spice grinder or crush with a mortar and pestle until coarsely ground; reserve skillet. 2. Make glaze: Stir together crushed coriander seeds, honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice in a small bowl until combined. 3. Lightly brush the top of each salmon fillet with glaze; reserve remainder. Heat oil in the nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot but not smoking. Cook salmon fillets, glazed sides down, 1 minute; reduce heat to medium-low, and cook 2 minutes more. Turn fillets over, and cook 3 minutes for medium-rare (salmon will be slightly pink in the middle), or longer if desired. Transfer to a plate; loosely cover with foil to keep warm. 4. Pour remaining glaze into skillet; bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook until glaze has thickened to the consistency of syrup, about 1 minute. Serve salmon with glaze on the side.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use fresh salmon steaks or filets that are about 1 inch thick. This will ensure that the salmon cooks evenly and doesn't dry out.
  • If you don't have fresh salmon, you can use frozen salmon that has been thawed in the refrigerator overnight. Just be sure to pat the salmon dry before cooking so that the glaze will adhere better.
  • To make the glaze, simply whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, ginger, and ground coriander. If you don't have ground coriander, you can use a teaspoon of ground cumin instead.
  • .
  • Brush the glaze onto the salmon before cooking. This will help to keep the salmon moist and flavorful.
  • .
  • Bake the salmon at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  • .
  • Serve the salmon immediately with steamed vegetables or rice.

Conclusion:

Honey Coriander Salmon is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The combination of sweet and savory flavors in the glaze is simply irresistible. And the best part is that this dish can be on the table in just 30 minutes!
