Tips:
- Use a large skillet to cook the beef and vegetables so that they have plenty of room to brown.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet, or the food will not cook evenly. Cook the beef and vegetables in batches if necessary.
- Season the beef and vegetables generously with chili powder, cumin, and salt and pepper. This will give the frito pie a delicious flavor.
- Use a variety of beans in the frito pie. This will add color, texture, and flavor to the dish.
- Use a mild cheddar cheese for the frito pie. This will prevent the cheese from overpowering the other flavors in the dish.
- Serve the frito pie immediately after it is made. This will prevent the chips from getting soggy.
Conclusion:
Santa Fe Frito Pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a casual meal. It is a great way to use up leftover beef and vegetables, and it can be customized to your liking. With its combination of hearty beef, flavorful beans, and melted cheese, Santa Fe Frito Pie is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
