WORLD'S GREATEST MUSHROOM-ONION BURGERS
I love a great burger... in fact even if I were mega-rich and could eat the priciest food available, burgers would still be gracing my meals more often than anything else I can think of! I've heard of $24 dollar gourmet burgers and such... but you can make this for a whole lot less money and still be in burger heaven... BEEF BURGERS WITH CREAMY MUSHROOM SAUCE RECIPE BY TASTY
Here's what you need: ground beef patties, burger buns, heavy cream, white wine, red onion, mushroom, black figs, salt and pepper mix
Provided by Strahinja Mitrovic
Yield 2 servings
Number Of Ingredients 8
Steps:
- For the sauce: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add red onion and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for another 2-3 minutes. Season with salt.
- Add white wine and cream to deglaze the mushrooms. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
- For the burgers: Cook patties on the BBQ or stovetop until cooked through and toast the buns.
- Slice the figs.
- Top the patties with mushroom sauce and sliced fig and place in the buns.
Tips:
- Choosing the Right Mushrooms: Select firm and fresh mushrooms with no signs of bruising or discoloration. Some popular options include cremini, shiitake, and oyster mushrooms.
- Slicing Technique: For uniform cooking, slice the mushrooms evenly. Thicker slices may require a bit more sautéing time.
- Seasoning: Don't shy away from seasonings. Garlic powder, paprika, dried thyme, and salt are classic choices that enhance the flavor of the mushrooms.
- Cooking Temperature: Use medium-high heat to sauté the mushrooms. This helps them brown and release their juices, resulting in a more flavorful and caramelized texture.
- Oil or Butter: Both oil and butter can be used for sautéing mushrooms. Oil provides a neutral flavor, while butter adds a rich, nutty taste.
- Avoid Overcrowding: Don't overcrowd the pan with mushrooms. This prevents even cooking and may result in steamed rather than sautéed mushrooms.
- Patience is Key: Sautéing mushrooms takes a few minutes. Be patient and allow them to brown and develop their full flavor. Stir them occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Conclusion:
Sautéed mushrooms are an incredibly versatile dish that can elevate the taste of any burger. With just a few simple steps and a handful of ingredients, you can create a flavorful and satisfying topping that will impress your taste buds. Whether you prefer earthy cremini mushrooms, meaty shiitake, or delicate oyster mushrooms, the sautéing technique remains the same. So grab your favorite mushrooms, heat up a pan, and embark on a culinary journey that will transform your burgers into gourmet masterpieces.
