Tips:
- Choose the right squash: Use a variety of squash that is firm and has a sweet flavor. Butternut squash, acorn squash, and kabocha squash are all good options.
- Roast the squash before adding it to the muffins: Roasting the squash brings out its natural sweetness and makes it easier to mash.
- Use a combination of flours: Using a combination of all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour gives the muffins a heartier texture.
- Add spices to the batter: Spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger add a warm and inviting flavor to the muffins.
- Top the muffins with nuts or seeds: Nuts and seeds add a crunchy texture and extra flavor to the muffins.
