SWEDISH PECAN COOKIES RECIPE

Provided by á-3634

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 C pecans - chopped
1 C butter - softened
1/2 C confectioners sugar - sifted
1 3/4 C flour
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • Cream butter and sugar. Stir in flour and pecans. Add vanilla. Chill in refrigerator for one hour. Preheat oven to 350. Roll dough into small balls between palms of your hands and place on a greased cookie sheet. Press down on each ball with the tines of a fork. Bake 10-12 minutes. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar while still warm. Makes about 3 dozen. Unbaked cookie dough can be kept in the refrigerator for several days, or can be frozen for 6 months.

Tips:

  • Measure your ingredients precisely: Baking is a science, and precise measurements are essential for successful results. Use a kitchen scale to weigh your ingredients, especially for items like flour and sugar, to ensure accuracy.
  • Use high-quality ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will directly impact the flavor and texture of your cookies. Choose fresh, high-quality ingredients whenever possible.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough helps to firm it up and prevent the cookies from spreading too much during baking. This will result in a thicker, chewier cookie.
  • Bake the cookies at the right temperature: The baking temperature will vary depending on the recipe, but it is important to follow the recipe's instructions carefully. Baking the cookies at too high a temperature can cause them to burn, while baking them at too low a temperature can result in undercooked cookies.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before enjoying: Once the cookies are baked, let them cool completely on a wire rack before enjoying. This will allow the cookies to firm up and develop their full flavor.

Conclusion:

Scandinavian pecan cookies are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for any occasion. With their rich, buttery flavor and crunchy pecans, these cookies are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. Whether you are a seasoned baker or a beginner, these cookies are easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you are looking for a special treat, give Scandinavian pecan cookies a try. You won't be disappointed!
