Tips

  • Use fresh vegetables: Fresh vegetables will give your casserole the best flavor and texture. If you can, try to use vegetables that are in season.
  • Cut the vegetables into even-sized pieces: This will help them cook evenly. If you have a food processor, you can use it to quickly and easily cut the vegetables.
  • Don't overcook the vegetables: Overcooked vegetables will be mushy and lose their flavor. Cook them just until they are tender-crisp.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: This will give your casserole more flavor and texture. Some good choices include broccoli, carrots, zucchini, corn, and peas.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment: There are many different ways to make a vegetable casserole. Feel free to add your own favorite vegetables or seasonings.
  • Make ahead: Vegetable casserole can be made ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 3 days. When you're ready to serve, simply reheat it in the oven.
