KAHLUA-GRILLED PORK TENDERLOINS

Kahlua-Grilled Pork Tenderloins image

Recipe is from the Texas Tapestry cookbook, Junior League of Houston, Texas. Haven't tried this recipe yet, but since I love Kahlua -- I had to post it!

Provided by DailyInspiration

Categories     Pork

Time 40m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup Kahlua
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 lbs pork tenderloin (2 tenderloins)
1 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt with parsley

Steps:

  • Combine Kahlua and butter in a small saucepan, bring to a boil. Boil 4 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat, and let cool slightly. Slice tenderloins crosswise at 1 1/2-inch intervals, cutting to, but not through, bottom. Sprinkle tenderloins with lemon-pepper seasoning and garlic salt; place in a large shallow dish or large heavy-duty, zip-top plastic bag. Pour half of the Kahlua mixture over tenderloins. Cover dish or seal bag securely and marinate in refrigerator 4 hours, turning occasionally. Cover and chill remaining half of Kahlua mixture.
  • Remove tenderloins from marinade, discarding marinade. Grill, covered, over medium-hot coals (350 - 400 degrees) 18 - 20 minutes or until a meat thermometer inserted in thickest portion of tenderloin registers 160 degrees, turning once and basting occasionally with remaining half of Kahlua mixture. Cover and let stand 10 minutes before slicing.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality pork tenderloin: Look for one that is firm and evenly colored, with no signs of bruising or discoloration.
  • Trim the pork tenderloin: Remove any excess fat or connective tissue from the pork tenderloin before cooking.
  • Marinate the pork tenderloin: This will help to tenderize the meat and add flavor. You can use a variety of marinades, such as a simple olive oil and herb marinade, or a more complex marinade with spices and citrus.
  • Preheat your grill: Make sure your grill is preheated to medium-high heat before cooking the pork tenderloin. This will help to sear the meat and prevent it from sticking.
  • Cook the pork tenderloin over direct heat: Cook the pork tenderloin over direct heat for 10-12 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  • Let the pork tenderloin rest: Let the pork tenderloin rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices to redistribute and make the meat more tender.

Conclusion:

Grilled pork tenderloin is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal or a special occasion. With a little planning and preparation, you can create a grilled pork tenderloin that is juicy, flavorful, and sure to impress your family and friends.
