1 pound lean ground beef
1 ½ cups canned sloppy joe sauce
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated reduced-fat crescent rolls

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Cook and stir the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks, until the meat is no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Drain off any excess fat, and mix the sloppy joe sauce into the cooked meat.

Spread the meat and sauce mixture in an even layer over the dough, and sprinkle the Cheddar cheese over the meat mixture. Unroll the second can of rolls, pinch the triangles together to make a single sheet of dough as before, and place the dough over the cheese.
  • Bake the casserole in the preheated oven until the top sheet of dough is golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes.

SLOPPY JOE BAKE (OLD-FASHIONED)

Sloppy Joe Bake (Old-Fashioned) image

This is based on the original Bisquick Sloppy Joe Bake that you could get in the little yellow cookbook they sent out via postal mail. I looked for it but I couldn't find it so I dug out my copy from my personal cookbook. See my other recipe for baking mix if you do not want to use Bisquick.

Time 1h

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup brown sugar (I use a little more than this, I like it sweet)
1 pinch white sugar
2 teaspoons mustard powder
1 1/2 cups baking mix (Bisquick or make your own)
1 cup milk
2 eggs
2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional, toasted if desired)
2 teaspoons paprika

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F Caramelize onions in skillet with butter on medium-low until golden and translucent (not brown), adding a pinch of white sugar about halfway through. Remove from heat, pour into ungreased 13x9x2 casserole dish.
  • Add beef to skillet, cook until brown, drain and rinse meat, add to casserole dish and mix well with onions, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard powder, and tomato sauce.
  • In a medium bowl, stir baking mix, milk and eggs with fork until just blended (do not over mix). See my other recipe for baking mix if you don't want to use Bisquick.
  • Carefully pour topping over beef -- VERY SLOWLY -- so it stays on top. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and paprika for garnish.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown. Cut into squares and serve. Freezes and reheats beautifully.

SLOPPY JOE IN A BUNDT

Sloppy Joe In A Bundt image

Another of my recipes posted in Cookbook "Nevada's Best".

Provided by Pat Duran @kitchenChatter

Categories     Beef

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound(s) lean ground beef
1/2 cup(s) diced onion
15 ounce(s) can hunt's manwich sauce
3 cup(s) bisquick mix
2/3 cup(s) milk
2 tablespoon(s) margarine, melted
2 large eggs

Steps:

  • Cook and stir beef and onion in large skillet until beef is cooked through and scrambled; drain. Stir in Manwich. Heat through. Remove from heat and set aside. Generously grease a 12 cup bundt cake pan. Mix together the Bisquick, milk, margarine and eggs; beat vigorously for 30 seconds. Spread 2 cups of the batter in bottom and about 2 inches up sides and center of pan(around tube). Spoon beef mixture evenly onto center of batter. Drop remaining batter by teaspoonfuls about 1/2 -inch apart onto beef mixture and spread to cover meat. Bake in 375^ oven about 25 minutes until light brown and firm. Invert on serving plate. Kids usually like this. --- Note: Just think of all the mixtures you can put inside of this batter! How about a Reuben, Want the recipe. Let me know. I got it.

Tips:

  • Use a high-quality ground beef. The quality of the ground beef will have a big impact on the flavor of the sloppy joe bundt cake. Look for ground beef that is fresh and has a good amount of marbling.
  • Cook the ground beef thoroughly. Be sure to cook the ground beef until it is browned and no longer pink in the center. This will help to ensure that the sloppy joe bundt cake is safe to eat.
  • Use a flavorful sloppy joe sauce. The sloppy joe sauce is what really makes this bundt cake special. Be sure to use a sauce that has a good balance of sweetness, sourness, and spice.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the sloppy joe bundt cake tough. Be sure to mix the batter until just combined.
  • Bake the sloppy joe bundt cake until it is cooked through. The sloppy joe bundt cake is done baking when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Serve the sloppy joe bundt cake warm. The sloppy joe bundt cake is best served warm, when the cheese is melted and gooey. Serve with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or French fries.

Conclusion:

The sloppy joe bundt cake is a fun and delicious twist on the classic sloppy joe. It is easy to make and is sure to be a hit with your family and friends. So next time you are looking for a new and exciting dish to try, give the sloppy joe bundt cake a try.
