1 small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup ketchup
1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chiles
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 cup chili sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
6 hamburger buns, split
2 tablespoons butter, softened

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat for 6-8 minutes or until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles; drain. Add garlic; cook 1-2 minutes longer. Stir in the ketchup, chiles, broth, chili sauce and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally., Meanwhile, spread cut sides of buns with butter. Place on baking sheets, buttered side up. 1/2 cup tomato sauce ((plain))
1 ounce taco seasoning ((1 packet or about 3-4 Tablespoons homemade taco seasoning))
4 rolls
4 slices cheddar cheese
Other toppings (optional): lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, tomato, pickled onions, sliced olives, bell peppers, etc.

Steps:

  • Place ground beef in large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook, while crumbling meat with a fork or wooden spoon, about 4-6 minutes, or until meat is cooked through. Drain off excess fat.
  • Add tomato sauce and taco seasoning to pan with meat. Stir to combine and cook another minute or two over medium-high heat until heated through.

1 large green bell pepper, diced
1/2 large onion, diced
1 1/2 cups ketchup
5 cloves garlic, minced
Hot sauce, such as Tabasco
Worcestershire sauce
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
8 kaiser rolls
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons chili powder, or more as needed
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or more as needed
2 tablespoons butter, softened
Chips or salad, for serving, if desired

Steps:

  • Start by browning the ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain off the fat.
  • Add in the green peppers and onions. Stir, and then add 1 cup water, the ketchup and garlic. Stir it around to combine, and then add the brown sugar, chili powder, dry mustard, red pepper flakes, and hot sauce, Worcestershire, salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine, and then cover and simmer over medium-low heat, about 20 minutes.

1 medium onion, chopped
2 jalapeno peppers, sliced and chopped (seeds and all)
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce, plus
1 cup water
garlic powder (1/2 tspn or more)
salt
flour tortilla
cheddar cheese sauce
garlic butter (make your own if needed by adding a dash of garlic powder to some softened butter)
sour cream

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef with chopped onion, chopped Jalapenos and salt.
  • Drain or spoon off excess fat after browning.
  • Add tomato sauce, water and garlic powder to meat mixture.

1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard

Pinch of ground cloves
Hot sauce to taste
1 pound ground beef
1/2 small onion, finely chopped

1 cup old el paso thick 'n chunky salsa
