Tips:

  • Select the right corn: Choose fresh corn with bright green husks and tightly packed kernels. Avoid any ears with brown or damaged husks.
  • Remove the husks: Peel back the husks, but leave a few layers intact to protect the kernels. Remove any silks that are attached to the corn.
  • Season the corn: Brush the corn with melted butter or olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. You can also add other seasonings, such as chili powder, garlic powder, or paprika.
  • Use a slow cooker: Place the corn in a slow cooker and add enough water to cover the corn by about 1 inch. Cook the corn on low for 4-6 hours, or until the kernels are tender.
  • Check the corn regularly: After 4 hours, check the corn to see if it is done. If the kernels are still firm, continue cooking for another hour or two.
  • Serve the corn: Once the corn is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and let it cool slightly. Serve the corn with butter, salt, and pepper. You can also add other toppings, such as sour cream, cheese, or salsa.
