Time 1h10m

Yield 10

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 ½ cups broccoli florets
3 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons ranch dressing mix, divided
2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (48 ounce) container chicken broth
1 (16 ounce) package small shell pasta
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
2 ¾ cups milk
1 (1.6 oz) package dry Alfredo sauce mix (such as Knorr®)
½ cup sour cream
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 slices cooked and crumbled bacon

Steps:

  • Place broccoli and water in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and microwave on high until steamed and tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove and drain excess liquid; set aside.
  • While broccoli is steaming, place 1 tablespoon ranch dressing mix in a large resealable plastic bag. Add chicken and pepper, seal the bag, and massage to coat chicken with seasonings.
  • Pour chicken broth into a large pot and bring a boil over medium-high heat. Add shells and return to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally until pasta is nearly done, about 10 minutes. Drain pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of cooking broth.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • Heat butter and olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken to the hot skillet, working in batches if necessary, and cook until browned on all sides, about 7 minutes. Remove chicken to a plate.
  • Add milk, Alfredo sauce mix, and remaining 2 tablespoons ranch dressing mix to the hot skillet; bring to a boil. Turn off the heat, add chicken and any accumulated juices, pasta, broccoli, sour cream, reserved 1/2 cup pasta cooking broth, salt, and pepper. Transfer mixture to the prepared casserole dish and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bacon.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbly, about 20 minutes. Serve warm.

BACON RANCH SLOW COOKED CHICKEN

Bacon Ranch Slow Cooked Chicken image

This recipe is super easy, it tastes like an Alfredo, so kids and adults all enjoy! I find that I tend to use more bacon than what the recipe calls for, just a little FYI.

Provided by Amanda H.

Categories     One Dish Meal

Time 3h10m

Yield 4 chicken breasts, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 tablespoons bacon bits
1 teaspoon instant minced garlic
1 (1 ounce) package hidden valley ranch dressing mix
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
egg noodles, Prepared

Steps:

  • Combine the first 5 ingredients.
  • Pour over chicken in slow cooker.
  • Cook 3-4 hours on high, or until chicken is done.
  • Serve over hot noodles.

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use high-quality bacon and ranch dressing. Look for bacon that is thick-cut and has a good amount of marbling. For the ranch dressing, choose one that is made with real buttermilk and herbs.
  • Don't overcrowd the slow cooker. If you're using a small slow cooker, you may need to cook the chicken and pasta in batches. Overcrowding the slow cooker will prevent the food from cooking evenly.
  • Cook the chicken on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. The chicken is done when it is cooked through and the juices run clear. You can check the chicken by inserting a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the breast. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Add the pasta to the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking. This will prevent the pasta from becoming overcooked.
  • Serve the chicken and pasta with your favorite toppings. Some popular toppings include shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions.

Conclusion:

Slow cooker bacon ranch chicken and pasta is a delicious and easy-to-make meal. It's perfect for busy weeknights or potlucks. The chicken is tender and juicy, the pasta is cooked to perfection, and the bacon ranch sauce is creamy and flavorful. This dish is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
