Tips:
- Choose the right sausage: Italian sausage, kielbasa, or breakfast sausage are all good options for this stew. Avoid using a sausage that is too spicy, as it can overpower the other flavors in the dish.
- Brown the sausage before adding it to the slow cooker: This will help to develop its flavor and prevent it from becoming greasy.
- Use a variety of vegetables: This will add flavor, texture, and nutrients to the stew. Some good options include kale, potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions.
- Add some herbs and spices: This will help to enhance the flavor of the stew. Some good options include garlic, thyme, rosemary, and sage.
- Cook the stew on low for 6-8 hours: This will allow the flavors to meld and the sausage to become tender.
- Serve the stew with a side of bread or rice: This will help to soak up the delicious broth.
Conclusion:
Slow cooker sausage and kale stew is a hearty and flavorful dish that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you are looking for a simple and delicious meal, give this stew a try.
