SMOKED SALMON FRENCH TOAST SANDWICH

Smoked Salmon French Toast Sandwich image

This quick recipe is a great way to use up old bread. Serve with wine and a nice side salad for a bistro-style meal. For a vegetarian option, substitute slices of Granny Smith apples and old Cheddar cheese for the smoked salmon and cream cheese. You can substitute Italian seasoning for the herbes de Provence, if desired. You can use any artisinal-style bread in place of the French bread.

SMOKED SALMON TOAST RECIPE BY TASTY

Smoked Salmon Toast Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: bread, cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onion, pepper

Provided by Tiffany Lo

Categories     Breakfast

Yield 1 serving

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 slice bread, toasted
cream cheese, to taste
1 smoked salmon
red onion, to taste
pepper, to taste, optional

Steps:

  • Spread cream cheese on the toast, and top with smoked salmon and red onions.
  • Add a sprinkle of pepper (optional).
  • Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Choose the right bread: A sturdy bread that can hold up to the toppings is best, such as sourdough, rye, or pumpernickel. If you're using a thinner bread, like white or wheat, you may want to toast it first to make it more sturdy.
  • Don't skimp on the butter: Butter is essential for adding richness and flavor to the toasts. Use a good-quality butter that you enjoy the taste of.
  • Use high-quality smoked salmon: The better the quality of the smoked salmon, the better the toasts will be. Look for smoked salmon that is fresh, firm, and has a good smoky flavor.
  • Don't overtop the toasts: You want the flavors of the smoked salmon, malt vinegar syrup, and bread to shine through. Don't pile on too many toppings, or the toasts will become overwhelmed.
  • Serve the toasts immediately: The toasts are best when served immediately after they are assembled. This will prevent the bread from getting soggy and the toppings from wilting.

Conclusion:

Smoked salmon toasts with malt vinegar syrup are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. They are perfect for parties or gatherings, and they can also be enjoyed as a quick and easy meal. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is both flavorful and sophisticated. So next time you're looking for a new recipe to try, give smoked salmon toasts with malt vinegar syrup a try. You won't be disappointed.
