Time 35m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups heavy cream
12 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup sour cream
4 graham crackers
1/4 cup roasted salted almonds
2 cups strawberries, hulled
2 cups chopped assorted fruit (1-inch chunks), such as kiwi and mango
One 16-ounce bag large marshmallows

Steps:

  • Scald the cream by warming it in a small saucepot over medium heat until bubbles form around the edges and steam rises from the surface.
  • Place the chocolate in a large bowl. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let sit for 3 minutes. Stir until well mixed, then whisk in the sour cream. Place the ganache into 6 small ramekins.
  • Pulse the graham crackers and almonds in a food processor until well chopped (or chop finely by hand). Divide among the ramekins.
  • Thread the strawberries, chopped fruit, and marshmallows onto skewers. Rotate the skewers over a campfire or open flame until the marshmallows are toasted.
  • Dip the skewers into the chocolate fondue and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality chocolate. The quality of the chocolate will greatly impact the taste of your fondue, so be sure to use a good quality chocolate that you enjoy the taste of.
  • Use a variety of marshmallows. You can use different sizes and flavors of marshmallows to create a more interesting and visually appealing fondue. You can even use flavored marshmallows, such as chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla.
  • Add some extras. You can add other ingredients to your fondue to give it more flavor or texture. Some popular additions include graham cracker crumbs, chopped nuts, dried fruit, and even bacon.
  • Keep the fondue warm. Fondue is best served warm and melted, so be sure to keep it over a low heat source or in a fondue pot. You can also reheat the fondue in the microwave if it starts to cool down.
  • Serve with a variety of dippers. Fondue can be served with a variety of dippers, such as fruit, pretzels, cookies, and bread. You can also serve it with marshmallows, of course.

Conclusion:

Smores fondue is a delicious and fun dessert that is perfect for parties or special occasions. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and memorable dessert that everyone will love.
