Time 2h25m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 loaf frozen bread dough ((there are 3 loaves in a bag))
1 cup pre-made pizza sauce
2 tsp dried Italian seasoning
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp Kosher salt
1 cup (8 ounces) shredded mozzarella
2 cups pepperoni, salami, diced ham or chicken, pineapple, onions,
2 Tbsp fresh herbs (basil, thyme, rosemary)

Steps:

  • Let dough thaw overnight in the refrigerator (see here for other ways to thaw frozen dough). Pull it out and set it out on a counter for 30 minutes up a few hours before making pizza. When you're ready to shape and bake the pizza, preheat the oven to 450ºF.
  • Divide the pre-made pizza dough into two. Shape each half into a ball. Use a floured rolling pin to shape the dough into a round crust. Or, shape it by hand by stretching it with your upturned hands to pull the dough from underneath in an outward motion.
  • When the crust is the desired size, transfer it to a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and a light drizzle of olive oil.
  • Bake the bare pizza dough in the oven at 450ºF for 5 minutes. While it is baking, prepare your toppings.
  • Once the dough is ready, take it out and preheat the oven to 500ºF. Add the sauce, dried herbs, cheese, and other toppings to the pizza crust, leaving a 1" edge around. Brush olive oil around the outer crust of the dough, then lightly sprinkle the edges with salt.
  • Bake the pizza at 500º F for 7-10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the crust are golden. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before adding fresh herbs, then slice and serve.

BREAD BOWLS FROM FROZEN ROLLS

Bread Bowls from Frozen Rolls image

Provided by Katie Clark

Time 3h5m

Number Of Ingredients 2

18 frozen rolls
1 whole egg

Steps:

  • Place frozen rolls on a greased cookie sheet - you will need three per bowl. You don't need to place them super far apart because you'll be combining them anyways!
  • Cover with greased plastic wrap, and let rise for about five hours. I let them rise overnight and that worked well.
  • Once they have risen, combine three of the rolls together and roll into a big, round ball.
  • Place each ball back on the cookie sheet, brush with egg wash, cover with greased plastic wrap, and let rise 2-3 hours in a warm spot.
  • Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven. When cool enough to handle, cut off the top of each bread bowl, and remove the inside of the bowl.
  • Let cool and then serve immediately or store for another time.

FROZEN BREAD DOUGH

Make and share this Frozen Bread Dough recipe from Food.com.

Provided by Shannon Weber

Categories     Breads

Time 1h40m

Yield 4 loaves

Number Of Ingredients 7

12 -13 cups bread flour (If I use some whole wheat flour, I use less flour)
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons salt
2/3 cup instant nonfat dry milk powder (powdered milk)
4 packages active dry yeast (I use 4 tablespoons especially with wheat flour)
1/4 cup soft butter or 1/4 cup soft margarine
4 cups very warm water

Steps:

  • I sprinkle the yeast on the 4 cups water and add the 1/2 cup sugar and let the yeast work.
  • In a large bowl or bread mixer mix powdered milk, 4 cups flour, salt and butter.
  • Add the yeast water and mix (you can use an electric mixer) as you keep adding flour you will need to knead by hand (or use a bread mixer) Add flour until you get a stiff dough (you might not need all of flour, it depends on the moisture content of your flour) Knead for 15 minutes and then cover with a towel and let rest for 15 minutes.
  • Divide dough into 4 equal balls.
  • Smooth balls and place on a cookie sheet and cover with plastic wrap.
  • Freeze balls until firm and then transfer to freezer bags and store in freezer.
  • Recommended storage time 1 month.
  • To Bake: remove frozen dough from freezer, open freezer bag and leave dough in bag to thaw or place on a cookie sheet and cover with plastic wrap to thaw.
  • It is very important to have a plastic covering over dough to thaw (dough really dries out without the plastic covering).
  • (It usually takes about 4 hours to thaw) Shape into loaves or leave round or make pizza crust or rolls or whatever you do with freezer dough.
  • Let rise until doubled (1 1/2 hours) Bake regular bread loaves at 350 for 35 minutes.
  • I like to brush the bread loaf with 1 beaten egg and return it to the oven for 5 minutes.

Tips:

  • Thaw the Dough Properly: Before using frozen bread dough, thaw it properly according to the package instructions. This ensures that the dough is at the right consistency for shaping and baking.
  • Use a Variety of Shapes: Frozen bread dough can be shaped into various forms, including loaves, rolls, and even pizza crust. Experiment with different shapes to create unique and visually appealing baked goods.
  • Add Flavors and Mix-Ins: Enhance the flavor of your bread by incorporating various ingredients such as herbs, spices, cheese, nuts, or dried fruits. These additions can transform ordinary bread into a flavorful and delectable treat.
  • Score the Dough: Before baking, score the top of the dough with a sharp knife or razor blade. This allows the bread to rise evenly and prevents the crust from becoming too thick.
  • Bake at the Right Temperature: Follow the recommended baking temperature and time specified in the recipe or on the bread dough package. Baking at the correct temperature ensures that the bread is cooked thoroughly and has a golden-brown crust.

Conclusion:

Frozen bread dough offers convenience and versatility for home bakers. With proper thawing, shaping, and baking techniques, you can create a wide range of delicious and visually appealing bread products. Experiment with different flavors, mix-ins, and shapes to create unique homemade bread that will impress your family and friends. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced baker, frozen bread dough is an excellent option for creating fresh, warm bread whenever the craving strikes.
