SOUP CONTINENTAL

My mother won $500 for this soup recipe. We always had it after Thanksgiving and Christmas with the leftover turkey in it. It goes together quickly for everyday dinners as well, when we usually use chicken instead. I think it's the seasonings that make it so good, warming you right through on a cold day.

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all your ingredients prepped and measured. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your soup will taste. Whenever possible, use seasonal produce and herbs.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Pot: When adding ingredients to your soup, don't overcrowd the pot. This will prevent the soup from cooking evenly and can make it watery.
  • Season to Taste: Always taste your soup before serving and adjust the seasoning as needed. You may need to add more salt, pepper, or herbs to taste.
  • Garnish Before Serving: A few simple garnishes can make your soup look and taste even better. Try adding a dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of chopped chives, or a drizzle of olive oil.
