Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Season chops and brown on both sides in oil, in a large skillet.
- 2. Remove chops and place in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
- 3. In the skillet you browned the chops in, whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. If not enough fat add a little more. Now, add the soup mix and water. Whisk so as not to have lumps. Cook until thickening some.
- 4. Pour onion mixture over the chops. Cover with foil and bake for 30 - 35 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 30 - 35 minutes or until chops are tender.
- 5. Remove chops to serving plate. To the gravy in the pan whisk in the sour cream, until smooth.
- 6. Serve the gravy over the chops. I also make mashed potatoes. It's delicious served over them as well. Enjoy!!
Tips:
- For an extra crispy coating, double-coat the chops in the sour cream mixture and bread crumbs.
- To make sure the chops are cooked through, use a meat thermometer to check that they have reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Serve the chops with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch dressing, ketchup, or honey mustard.
- For a healthier version of this recipe, you can bake the chops instead of frying them.
- To add some extra flavor to the chops, you can season them with garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
Conclusion:
Sour cream onion chops are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. They are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and they are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
