  • after 15 minutes turn heat off, uncover & flip rice over. recover & let sit until everything else is ready. you can let the rice sit covered for up to 25 minutes which will cook out most of the moisture & leave perfect fluffy rice.

EASY SPANISH RICE

This recipe has been told to me by my girlfriends MIL from Mexico. I had to measure the ingredients. Never before have they been measured, always a 'handful of this and equal parts of this' until it looked right. I hope you enjoy it. It has become a family favorite in our home. I am always asked to make it!

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the dish will taste. Use fresh vegetables, flavorful spices, and high-quality rice and turkey.
  • Cook the rice properly: Rice is the foundation of Spanish rice, so it's important to cook it correctly. Rinse the rice before cooking to remove any starch, and then cook it according to the package directions.
  • Brown the turkey before adding it to the rice: Browning the turkey adds flavor and helps to prevent it from drying out. Cook the turkey over medium-high heat until it is browned on all sides.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: Spanish rice is a great way to use up leftover vegetables. Add your favorites, such as bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, carrots, and corn.
  • Season the rice well: Spanish rice should be flavorful, so don't be afraid to use spices. Common spices used in Spanish rice include cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Let the rice rest before serving: After the rice is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the flavors to meld together.

Spanish rice with turkey is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as a main course or a side dish. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its colorful vegetables and flavorful rice, Spanish rice with turkey is a surefire hit at any gathering.
