SPARKLING WHITE CRANBERRY SANGRIA RECIPE - (4.5/5)

Sparkling White Cranberry Sangria Recipe - (4.5/5) image

Provided by á-174535

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 cup sugar
1 cup rum, like Selvarey or another high-quality white rum
1 cup diced red apple
1 cup diced green apple
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1 bottle Chardonnay, un-oaked or lightly oaked, chilled
1 cup white cranberry juice, chilled
2 cups club soda, chilled
Lemon twist for garnish

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher, combine the sugar and rum and stir to dissolve. Add the apples, cranberries, Chardonnay, and white cranberry juice. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight. When ready to serve, add the club soda and stir to combine. Pour into ice filled glasses and scoop in some of the fruit. Top each glass with a lemon twist. Recipe Notes: I used frozen cranberries but you can also use fresh. If you use fresh, your sangria will be more pink tinted, as the berries bleed their color into the juice. Using an oak-aged Chardonnay will give the sangria more buttery flavors. I prefer un-oaked for a cleaner, lighter, more refreshing sangria. You can also serve this sangria immediately, but the flavors won't have had as much time to mingle and mellow.

Tips:

  • Use fresh cranberries: Fresh cranberries have a tart and tangy flavor that will add a refreshing touch to your sangria. If you can't find fresh cranberries, you can use frozen cranberries, but be sure to thaw them before using.
  • Choose a dry sparkling wine: A dry sparkling wine will help to balance out the sweetness of the cranberry juice and orange juice. Avoid using a sweet sparkling wine, as it will make the sangria too sweet.
  • Add some orange zest: Orange zest adds a bright citrus flavor to the sangria. Be sure to use organic oranges so that you don't get any pesticides in your sangria.
  • Let the sangria chill for at least 2 hours before serving: This will allow the flavors to meld together and the sangria to become nice and cold.
  • Garnish with fresh cranberries and orange slices: This will add a festive touch to your sangria and make it even more delicious.

Conclusion:

Sparkling cranberry sangria is a delicious and refreshing drink that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. So next time you're looking for a festive and delicious drink, give sparkling cranberry sangria a try. You won't be disappointed!
