1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups (about 6 lemons) freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 liter club soda, * chilled
4 teaspoons grenadine syrup **
6-inch wooden skewers
Fresh fruit pieces (strawberries, melon balls, pineapple chunks, etc.)

Steps:

  • Combine sugar and lemon juice in 2-quart pitcher. Stir well; refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
  • Just before serving, add club soda. Stir in grenadine syrup.
  • Thread fruit pieces onto 6-inch wooden skewers to make kabobs. Place kabobs in glasses; add ice. Pour in lemonade mixture.

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (5 to 6 lemons)
1/2 to 3/4 cup superfine sugar, to taste
1 cup crushed ice
4 cups water
2 teaspoons grenadine
6 maraschino cherries

Steps:

  • Place the lemon juice, sugar, ice, water, and grenadine in a blender and process until completely smooth. Place a cherry in the bottom of 6 glasses and pour the lemon juice mixture in the glass. Serve.

2 cups sliced strawberries
1 cup raspberries
2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice, divided
1 cup sugar
2 liter bottle of seltzer water
1 cup vodka ((see note))
Ice

Steps:

  • Place strawberries, raspberries, lemon juice, and sugar in a sauce pan and heat over high heat until boiling. Reduce heat to low boil/high simmer and allow to simmer for 5-8 minutes, until mixture becomes syrupy. Stir occasionally. Berries should be pretty much liquified.
  • Strain mixture well through fine mesh strainer, pressing syrup out of berries. Allow berry syrup to cool at least 30 minutes or overnight in the fridge.
  • When ready to serve, pour seltzer water and vodka into a gallon pitcher, add 2 to 3 cups of ice and stir.
  • Pour berry syrup into pitcher and stir well. Serve over ice.
  • Garnish with berries, lemon slices, or mint sprigs. Makes 16 one cup servings including ice.
