Number Of Ingredients 12

1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 pork tenderloin (1 pound each)
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cups unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup apple juice
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Steps:

  • In a shallow bowl, combine flour, salt and pepper. Cut each tenderloin into six pieces; flatten to about 1-inch thickness. Melt butter in large skillet. Dip pork into flour mixture; add to skillet and brown on both sides. Place in an ungreased 11x7 baking dish. In the same skillet, saute onion and garlic until tender. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Pour over pork. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until the juices run clear and a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork tenderloin: Look for a tenderloin that is firm and pink in color. Avoid tenderloins that are brown or have any signs of bruising.
  • Trim the pork tenderloin: Remove any excess fat or silver skin from the tenderloin before cooking. This will help the tenderloin cook evenly and prevent it from becoming dry.
  • Marinate the pork tenderloin: Marinating the tenderloin in a flavorful marinade will help to tenderize the meat and add flavor. You can use a variety of marinades, such as a simple olive oil and herb marinade, a citrus-based marinade, or a yogurt-based marinade.
  • Cook the pork tenderloin to the proper temperature: The internal temperature of the pork tenderloin should reach 145 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare, 155 degrees Fahrenheit for medium, and 165 degrees Fahrenheit for well-done. You can use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the tenderloin.
  • Let the pork tenderloin rest before serving: After cooking, let the pork tenderloin rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful tenderloin.

Conclusion:

Pork tenderloin is a versatile and delicious cut of meat that can be prepared in a variety of ways. By following these tips, you can cook a perfect pork tenderloin that is tender, juicy, and flavorful. Whether you are grilling, roasting, or pan-searing your pork tenderloin, be sure to use a meat thermometer to ensure that the internal temperature reaches the proper temperature. With a little practice, you will be able to cook a perfect pork tenderloin every time.
