1 cup white sugar
½ cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 tablespoons milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon ground allspice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 large eggs, room temperature
1-1/4 cups unsweetened applesauce
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins
1/2 cup chopped candied citron

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, whisk 2 cups flour, baking powder, salt, spices and baking soda. In another bowl, whisk eggs, applesauce, sugars, melted butter and orange zest until blended. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. 70 grams (1/2 cup) unbleached all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
90 grams (about 1/2 cup) raw brown sugar (turbinado) or packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup canola oil or grapeseed oil
1/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt or buttermilk
1 cup organic applesauce with no sugar added

1 cup applesauce
4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine, melted
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
